  I attempted to book an emergency appointment to have a temporary crown replaced. I have done this in the past and had no problems regardless of the fact that I was not a registered patient at the practice I visited. I called Canterbury road dental care and the receptionist told me that I couldn't get any work done without having been seen by the dentist prior to treatment. This I thought was reasonable as it may have been a policy put in place by the practice itself. What I found unreasonable was the patronising tone she used to explain this to me as if I were a simpleton with no knowledge of how the dental health care system worked. As I mentioned previously I have personally had treatment while unregistered in an emergency. I am certainly disappointed with the maner in which I was spoken to as the receptionist was clearly unaware that other practices have and do treat emergency patients without the need to register or consult.
